The Bunny Yoga Festival will return! Check back for updates.
The Bunny Yoga area was teeming with excitement all day long. The 2 sessions of yoga were packed with yogis both young and old. The bunnies loved all the attention and opportunity to graze on the lawn and the lavender that lined the edges. Because of the festival, Reno Rabbit Rescue made placed 3 bunnies in their fur-ever homes and networked with bunny guardians to create a bunny-loving community. Dozens of UNR volunteers made the work of set-up and tear down much easier and faster. We hope to many more Bunny Yoga Festivals in the future.
On Staurday September 28th, 2019, the threat of ugly weather wasn’t enough to scare away bunny lovers and yogis. Local Reno startup Good Elephant had teamed up with the Reno Rabbit Rescue and hosted the first ever Bunny Yoga Festival at Idlewild Park. Expert rabbit veterinarian Dr. Bridgette Landon of Mountain View Pet Hospital was on hand to ensure all the bunnies were healthy and fit for yoga and a day of fun and treats. Volunteers were on site teaching participators about proper house-bunny care. The festival included yoga all day with Good Elephant Reno’s best teachers, bring-your-bunny meet & treat, bunny adoptions, local vendors, food, & music.
The goals of the Bunny Yoga Festival are:
1.Increase public awareness of pet rabbits as indoor companions
2.Gather and build our community of local yoga practitioners and teachers
3.Raise funds for the operation of the festival and Reno Rabbit Rescue
The Bunny Yoga Festival was generously sponsored by Mountain View, Oxbow Animal Health, Small Pet Select, and Custom Ink.
