Magellan was rescued as part of the 7 Lionhead rescue at the end of 2024. He was in rough shape, with numerous bite marks and abscesses, likely from being the runt and getting picked on by the other boys he was rescued with.
Placed in foster care with Maria and Yingshi, he received daily abscess flushing and medication for several weeks. Once healed, Magellan’s personality blossomed, and he even litter-box trained before his neuter.
He found his forever home with Angela Shillings from KTVN news — perhaps he’ll make the news someday! Angela’s previous bunny, Marley, was sick from the start due to a shelter that lacked veterinary screening. Feeling isolated and without support, she struggled with Marley’s health until he passed.
Now, with Magellan (renamed Teddy), Angela is thriving. She shared, “Thanks for your help. Wish I had it with Marley.” We wish the same — that all Reno bunnies and their humans would join our community and support one another.
